That is actually good advice for everyone, given how often they change dramatically even over just a couple days! Not that bad weather necessarily means a trip can't happen, just easier when it isn't an issue.

Apparently, they don't update that marker very often, as from what I can see, the mileage given there is from 2011. That point could be quite a bit off now, as next year's length is something like 17 miles longer over that decade plus. Just depends on which side of the point got miles added, or if it was somewhat equal on both sides, I guess.
