Unfortunately I was old enough to watch the 1970 World Series and appreciate what I was seeing. youtube.com/watch?v=d6Cs5_fx7tI ” My son played multiple games at a historic ballpark in Little Rock where I believe he played high school. They had a like a mini-museum showcase for him there. Late 60s and early 70s Orioles had great pitching and 3 straight World Series appearances and four 20 game winners one year. Which is…

In the morning while sitting on the throne in the hut's privy (no joke), a squirrel runs by, obviously terrified, and dives into a hole at the bottom of a tree about 15 feet in front of me. I start looking up the tree to see if the squirrel comes out another hole when I saw this magnificent barred owl.If he had not moved his head I probably wouldn't have seen him, he blended in that well. And he never f…

I believe we have just experienced the triple crown of poor questions over the past three days. Today was average miles per day. But it appears to assume you only count the hiking days (and not zeros). My assumption would be 14.5, but closest options are 11 and 17 (unless you want to go with 8 or 23).

We had a Score-O event (mass start, find what you can within your chosen time limit and return on time). There was a Heat Advisory in North Texas. My buddy and I did OK for the first hour, finding one control that was miss placed (about 30 meters off, NOT at the "Western Fence End"). Two very nice high school men decided to orienteer with us and we figured Strength in Number on…

I have been looking forward to the Veeck documentary. He was partners with Bill Murray at one point. I believe MLB was a lot better off when teams were owned by baseball families than just the play toys of billionaires and multimillionaires (many times over).

I know I would love the first 100 miles of that trail, just not sure about the last 170. Heard described as shutes and ladders or compressed version of the Whites and Southern Maine. That part doesn't sound that fun in the rain.
