A couple of years ago Kathy and I hiked from the Delaware River to the Hudson River. It's surprising how nice the trail is in New Jersey. Up until that hike we had done NJ as day or weekend hikes. Like so many others when I think of NJ I think of oil refineries and the turnpike. There's so much more to the state than that.

Tonight Kathy and I made our reservations and registration for the AT Vista in Johnson City, Tenn. Our plan is to go visit our son, and his wife, for a week and then drive down to Tenn. for the AT Vista. I'm looking forward to the trip as I haven't seen our son since before covid and I've never been to Tennessee before. I sure hope my foot is fully healed by then. After the weekend of the AT Vista we expect to take 2 days to drive home. It'll be our first trip post retirement.

I've ordered the new trail guide but We still don't know if we want to walk or cycle the 333 miles of DC to Pittsburg but are pretty well decided to do it this coming fall. It would be a great way to spent leaf peeping season.

She's been driving for 20+ years and has been driving the same neighborhoods for something like 14 years. She's seen generations of kids from the same families come and go. Then on Friday July 14th I'll be retiring after 50 years and 5 months as an aircraft mechanic. For the past year or so I've only been working 3 days a week but …
