    While some of my teachers should have been put in prison... classes when I went to high school were taught information and we were tested on that information. I learned lots of science and grammar that is apparently not taught until university now.

    Teachers are forced to teach nothing but how to pass the national tests that were supposed to be a national standard. But it didn't work out that way.

    I understand the odds of winning the lottery but I still buy the occasional ticket.

  • My buddy and I used solid fuel cylinders about 1962 to boil water. After 2 hours we gave up and made a small wood fire. That boiled the water in less than 15 minutes.

    Don't think so . But there are times when I wonder if the programmers who write them know what they are doing. We are now under a winter weather watch and the winter mix might be here Friday morning rather than at night. The storm has sped up. I hope this storm doesn't overload the four yes four sand and salt trucks the county has. City doesn't have any. Well. A town.

    From a morning temp of 52F. It is now 48F. at 10 am.

    I don't remember which one. I saw a mention of it. Got down to 50F. Going back up to 52F. Predicted low for Thursday is 29F.

    I heard of that method to get worms using a car battery. My grandfather said it was very dangerous so I never did it. When i read the Darwin. Award books I saw that several people had died using a car battery to fish with.

    One day trip in Naples, Italy included a visit to a cameo factory. The apprentices cut the rough shapes and the masters did the detail. then the results were made into rings, necklaces. etc.

    The Littleist Nightingale I wrote this years ago. I did a copy and paste, formatting this was a pain. Many long years ago I saw a movie made of an ancient story placed in China.     I was interested in a loom about 1975. But since I lived with relatives after I got out of the Navy, jerky employers were worried about flash backs I wasn't going to have as I was never in combat, anyway. We didn't have room. I checked on the one i was interested in, and it weighed over 1,000 pounds. My mom suggested I just stick to bead work, at least that loom was very light and portable.

    possible snow flurries predicted for central and north Alabama this coming Friday night. Amount predicted is from zero to 4 inches. Cold front coming in on Wednesday.
