PostI was never a heavy drinker to begin with. I had 5 heavy drinking times when I was in the Navy. Around the past 20 years a fifth of booze would last me a year. One drink Friday night while I watched television. That was it.

I think big city areas they just sell cookies. My sister told me that wouldn't be tolerated by the parents back then. I really haven't heard much camping going on with either boy or girl scouts these days. I know most of the girl scout summer camps have been sold off. For boy Scouts it varies by location. I encountered some scouts in Pennsylvania from Manhatten. They had found and recycled metals. Bought and refurbished their own bus. And raised money to camp in the woods. One kid was in a wheel…

We cooked every meal in Scouts. One time we did coffee can casserole. The cans back then had metal lids that came off with a metal key but would still slide back on. We cooked burger meat, carrots, a small potato, maybe celery. Bed of coals. Bury cans in the coals. I think it took about 20 minutes. I could be off on the time. Use a stick to carefully move the can out of the coals. One guy didn't and got ashes on his food. Mine was delicious. No ashes. but dehydrated meals means no more worries a…
