  • There was some earlier posts for a "kit" for fishing. I am on the fence on the suggestions as I just built two fresh water systems that are uber light, and will be legal, based on the suggestions. I will make this a separate thread as I do like to fish, but it would not be part of my "survival" ideas. The old Idea of staying put under a canopy of woods is over. Fishing for dinner in the woods would delay your possible rescue. The most important thing to do is make yourself visible and leave a tr…

TJ once repaired.....Find a small mattress and set it up over it in the back yard. Put the heaviest family member in the hammock and check it for safety. I use a basement test area for this... I have boat hardware mounted to the ceiling for these tests. The hardware is a lag ring with for huge screws for the joists. Most lag rings are tested for 600 pounds. appalachiantrailcafe.net/index…b1ff12efbac9d97e681151c61

  • Hoodless Sleeping Bags

Wise Old Owl - - Sleep Systems

    Post

Hoodless bags is no big deal. In fact, they are revered trucks of backpacking. Just like a sunroof accessory, they have a clear advantage. You can be 5 foot 11 inches or 7 foot 2 inches. These bags are king! And easy to fix with a Balaclava or Beenie, they provide a lower weight, and extra flexability for a down hooded jacket as the bag acts like an Elephants foot.
