PostWe drove 9 hours from Central Wisconsin to south of St. Louis to watch the 2017 eclipse. Stood in a park on top of a cliff overlooking the small town of Pacific, MO. Watched the shadow of the moon approaching from the west, saw the street lights come on below. The birds stopped chirping and the crickets started. Then it was dark, the sun was not visible except for its corona. So beautiful that it brought tears to my eyes. More than worth 18 hours in the car.

PostNice! We became interested in the night sky after three of our four sons were born during the time of yearly meteor showers. Thus it was easy to remember when it was time to look to the skies.

PostI retired from teaching in June, and now work 20ish hours a week at Kwik Trip, a midwest based gas/convenience/food store. My husband is also semi-retired from over the road driving, and drives school bus. His route follows the Wisconsin River in a rural area and is 100 miles long! We are both enjoying having time with each other, our kids, grandkids, neighbors, church, dog, etc... We are not far from the Ice Age trail and have section hiked half of it so far. Planning another AT section in June…
