Terribly sorry for your loss, K Man. Family is in the heart, not always the DNA. Sorry that lack of the second is causing you to be shut out, but it sounds like you might be better off without that sh*tshow. Cherish her memory and keep her in your heart, as Warren told us. youtube.com/watch?v=6dscsGRjpxk

After pretty much missing last year's crowd, this year I started following a number of potential thru-hikers again on YouTube. I got behind quickly because in spite of mostly sitting on my ass during my vacation, I tried not to spend too much of it on the innerwebz and thus didn't watch a lot of videos. Two hikers I started out following have turned out to be pretty popular, with lots of views and being mentioned by other YouTubers. I have since unsubscribed from both. First was Early Riser. He …

I greatly admire General Lee as well, and while he absolutely lost a LOT when he lost Jackson, I don't think even Old Jack would've made much difference at Gettysburg. There's a very viable argument that no way in hell COULD Jackson have been at Gettysburg. Yes, he could easily have survived, but he wouldn't have been recuperated in time to be back to duty by July. It's utterly unthinkable to simply say "but if he hadn't been wounded at all..." because to keep him from getting wounded you'd have…

Love his approach, get there first with the most. If a fight is necessary, that has always appeared to be the best method to me. ” I usually read at meals rather than engage in the same old conversations with co-workers. Yesterday one of the guys asked what I was reading. You could've heard a pin drop after I…

It was insane, and huge. No circle-with-wedges-cut-out crap here. It looked like they made it in a 9x13 or so cake pan and cut "slices" the full width of the pan. We shared it between two people and couldn't eat all of it, in spite of not overstuffing for lunch.
