Hiking & Biking
Postits about a 300 foot climb from the entrance of the park up to the high point. Hard to tell but looks to be less than a mile. The road down from the peak to the back of the motel is steeper with a sharp turn at the bottom. Some breeze through it and some struggle. The guy that was first last year seemed rather bored by his competition. This year will see larger numbers with some outside US riders.

Postthe Cheaha. Challenge ultra is 124 miles. There are shorter rides with in that race 100 miles and some others. The two above actually get to Mt. Cheaha. The Ultra goes up twice. The 100 mile riders go up once. The rest don't go that far. The race starts at Jacksonville, Alabama at 7:30 am. And ends about 4 pm. When the riders cross the finish back at the start line. The first place guy last year finished a bit after 3 pm.

Took a walk today
PostI grew up about 500 feet above sea level. My dad got transferred to Albuquerque, New Mexico. There was a warning sign at the base guest house to take it easy as most people that came there had a hard time going up the stairs due to the altitude change. I tried, being a teenager, to walk a little fast up the stairs. I had to stop at the landing. And slowly walk up the stairs. So I sort of understand.

I'm looking for a trail camera so I can take photos of woodland creatures while I sleep. Prefer battery power. And under $100.00 for the camera. I have several micro sd. cards up to 32 gigabytes. I would prefer no clicking when tty he shutter goes. I don't know if motion detection is good idea or not. I have looked at Amazon and that have a few under $80. Thanks.

Jim Blue's Gear List
PostI used to put one arm under a strap and then finish pulling it up and put my other arm in. Something like that. Flipping it over my head is not an option.

PostI know about .22 long rifle. It is possible to kill or harm a person with it. But I wouldn't want to rely on it in a life or death situation. Yes. I know about the .223 m-16. I prefer the M-1 Garand. But I don't have any of those weapons.

PostI've never heard of a .22 for anything other than paper targets or small animals.
