OK, not technically wildlife, and I only "sighted" them on-line, but did you see the pictures of the poor family of cows whose pasture collapsed from underneath them in last week's earthquake in New Zealand? Miraculously, they were safe, but stranded. I heard that they had been rescued, although I'm not sure how.
Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.

I wanted to read the whole thing but it only let me read a paragraph at a time, and with the adds to forever took forever to load...can you sum it up? Reason I ask is I sat with a family member over thanksgiving who is from Montana and he told stories of wolf attacks and grizzlies. He is an avid hiker an use the guide in NH and would consider hiking with out Udap bear defense...so I guess I'm wondering where that story was headed.

Saw a gator in a pond beside the trail we ran while at the beach for Thanksgiving, was funny watching an Asian friend my son brought from California jump when it took off.
Lucky it wasn't hungry. They can out run you.--

Of a period of six years, other folks became acquainted the with the wolf and allowed their dogs to interact. The photograph was able to document the playtime and the apparent friendliness of the wolf with several stunning photos. C
After a period of months when the wolf failed to appear, word came that hunters had shot the wolf.

I've heard the story about Romeo several times since I've been up here from lots of people who met him.“Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.” - T. S. Eliot

Of course I talk to myself... sometimes I need expert advice.

I saw these giant white birds on the river a few weeks ago and for the life of me I couldn't figure out what they were. We also saw them on the drive down from Alaska, somewhere in Montana but passed by them so quickly that I thought I must have been mistaken in what I saw. In all my travels back and forth across this country and continent, I'm happy to still see something new.
The American White Pelican. **I spaced it and completely forgot to take my camera, so I only have cell phone pics."

Took the dog for a walk at the local park. While sitting at the deck overlooking the ravine we saw orioles, indigo buntings, red bellied woodpeckers (which BTW don't have a red belly!), and a crane. Unexpectedly good night for bird watching.

I forgot, there was a rose brested grosbeak (who does have a colored breast)

I saw a squirrel with a blond tail this morning, but it ran off before I could take a picture.

Not a great trip for wildlife. Saw some deer in Sweden. Do goats count as wildlife? Lots of those in Norway (trekking poles good for getting them off the trail). May have seen a falcon. It flew across the fjord like a missle. Lots of trolls in the gift shops. In Sweden, the seagulls scream like a Nazgul from Lord of the Rings. I guess that makes it a Naz Gull.

As I shop for victuals in the early AM, I usually see deer a plenty in the green spaces within the campus I bike across. Today a spike was startled by a truck and broke across several parking lots, a highway, and finally disappeared into a neighborhood. Hopefully he'll survive.
Too dark for a photo.

Saw a big bobcat run across the road yesterday. Right in the middle of the day. We have a lot of them in the area but you rarely see them.
