Awesome! Shoot some video of it if you can. Y'all have been hiking hard at a great pace and through some tough weather at times, and deserve to be youtube and where ever else. The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.

Time for Pareto's 80/20 rule.
They say when you hit NH you have 80% of the AT miles, but only 20% of the effort. Now you have 20% of the AT miles to go but it will take 80% of the effort.
I am sure you will enjoy every bit of it. When it gets tough, just remember the great views.

Take it as it comes! Try to hit Francoina ridge & Presidential traverse on good days. They are awsome in good weather & down right suck in bad weather. To good to miss. Consider shuttle around or a zero if weather is bad. AMC runs a shuttle at outdoors.org. Best of luck to you, enjoy the Whites!

Hey guys, i have good news. I just might be getting new boots care of REI for my sobo trip! Grey Fox asked me for pics of my feet and shoe size. Maybe we can save joes toes after all! In other news, well, what other news could there be? I have made it farther than some predicted but you guys knew i would make it! Thanks a lot for all of your help and support! You go, Joe.When you pass Crawford Notch, you'll start getting views of Mt. Willey behind you. Tragic story of the Willey's (not my direct ancestors, but ancestors just the same). You'll love the climb into the Prezzies. There is a snack bar and cafe on top of Mt. Washington. Good place for a hot meal. Hope the weather is good.
Peace out. -
I think I may have been one of the naysayers. I seem to recall saying something like, "if he makes it, he'll have learnt a lot in a very short time. Equivalently, if he doesn't learn a lot in a very short time, he's not going to make it."
I suspect that knowing what you know now, you'll agree that statement was entirely accurate.
Have fun in the Whites! I'd say that they're harder than anything you've done yet, but by the time you get to the Whites on a NOBO thru, you're ready for them. The stats show the hardest part of a NOBO thru is Springer to Neels Gap.
Don't let the blackflies eat you. Another couple of weeks, and the worst should be over!I'm not lost. I know where I am. I'm right here. -

Great hike DJ. Can't wait for the yo-yo flip. Might have to go over there and read all the excuses/explanations and the negativity about making it back to Springer. Good news about the boots. That's cool.Changes Daily→ ♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫ ♪♫♪♫♪♫ ← Don't blame me. It's That Lonesome Guitar. -

On this trip I met a lot of naysayers. It boggles my mind that even after 1700 miles of hiking thru ice, snow, rain, mud, bugs and over mountains, puds and interstate overpasses people still tell me/us what we can't do and how we should do it.
Naysayers have a hard time realizing that a successful thru hike attempt is not about comfort, convenience and easy going. A lot of times its just miserable suffering to get the miles under your belt. So just because these people are not willing to do it doesn't mean it can't be done by someone else. -

The stats say the largest percentage of hikers quit by Neels gap its only difficult to those who have little or no backpacking experience or experience in any kind of mountain terrain except for coming down Albert mountain that stretch Is pretty easyits all good

It has been a few years, but I remember going up and climbing over rocks on Albert Mountain being tougher than going down. But the point, I am sure that is nothing like the Whites and NH/ME.The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.
