MERRY CHRISTMAS! to you too Tuck and everyone! I'm going to try and cherish each and every moment and make it last. All too many times in the past it was gone before I knew it. I'm going to work on changing that in the next couple of days. I'm not gonna be rushed. Enjoy the small moments everyone!Changes Daily→ ♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫ ♪♫♪♫♪♫ ← Don't blame me. It's That Lonesome Guitar.

Merry Christmas, Tuck, milkman, and everyone else!
I drove up to Ohio for Christmas. Lots of time with a bunch of friends and family. Tomorrow will mostly be spent at my best friend's Dad's house with their family, which I'm lucky enough to be part of. After that, maybe some popping around to visit a few others in the area.
My Christmas gift to me, other than the trip up here, was going to see my Steelers play the Chiefs this past Sunday. Had a great time.
I hope everyone here has a most wonderful Christmas, however you spend it.Do your duty in all things. You cannot do more, you should never wish to do less. - Robert E. Lee -

Merry Christmas all you folks. Been a really long time since I've been on a computer or messed around with posting here or on WB. Just got the urge to say hello to you folks. Spending Christmas Eve tonight on my porch in my sleeping bag listening to an owl. Thinking about long treks. Seasons Greetings!

its been a wonderful year. thru hiked the bmt, did 650 miles of trail this year, along with a 3 week stint at ft bastian.
when i was out on the trail, i got the news that my mom had been diagnosed with lung cancer, and i lost my motivation to hike any further. well now its christmas, mom's cancer is in remission, and i couldnt ask for a better xmas present. this christmas season was made even more exceptional with a wonderful reunion with violet and my dear friends from the land down under, in a perfect new england christmas setting.
i am truly blessed to count all of you among my family. we don't always agree on everything, but the respect we've shown each other when we don't doesnt occur on the internet very often. we are truly a family and i love you all.
merry christmas everyone!its all good -

Merry Christmas everybody. Peace on Earth, Goodwill towards men. Peace and Love everyone.
The wife and I are going to start a new tradition and go see a new movie (now that all the kids are grown up and don't want the big to do at Grammy's house. They secretly do and are circling in on G-ville right now acording to sources. Won't they be surprised when they ring the bell and no one's here. That'll teach them to call and arrange ahead of time, you think? It's a grandparent thing that only grandparents will understand). We're going to see 'Unbroken'

Hope you got a magnifying lens to read those instructions. Are you going to nourish things or dehudrate. I suppose you could nourish them and then dehydrate. Rasty prolly knows. -
Unbroken was good. A lot of violence, but that showed he stayed Unbroken.

Christmas is celebrated differently in different Christian/Protestant denominations all over. The Puritans didn't celebrate it at all, they kept it way low-key. All the Santa and Christmas-tree stuff is pure pagan. To the extent that it's Christ's birthday, I believe there's some disagreement even among Christians as to the actual date of that event. Eastern Orthodox put it at January 7.

Lambs are born in the spring. Thats the 'shepards with their flocks' part of it. There is a major pagan holiday on Dec 25 ( I remember it being for Thor, God of Thunder), along with one for Mithra ( another pagan), and the early Christian Church held Christmas on Dec 25... that way if someone wasn't there, everyone who attended, knew or could claim, the person not there was a pagan.--

When roman government made christianity (catholicism) the state religion, they figured it was to easier to convert people if they were allowed to keep their current feast days and customs. Hence the pagan traditions and customs we still practice today as part of christmas.

December 25th as Christ's birthday is a complete steal from pagan post winter solstice celebration.
