Just saw where he was also with Newhart in Catch-22. That movie had a lot of different stars (many early in their careers). Even some who didn't act much (Orson Welles and Art Garfunkel). The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.

My favorite bit from Newhart was when Mr Carlin (Riley) would bring a woman's sweater to a party and drape it over the chair next to him. He would then tell everyone his date was in the bathroom.

one of the points the inventors made that for the rental market, a lot of people get out but can't get back and the rental place has to go get them. this would solve that problem. although the main draw is that you can go much faster with the motorized assist.
next week it looks like they are getting a pitch for some kind of mountain bike with 2 front wheels. wheels are close together; not like a tricycle.2,000 miler -

Guess it all depends on your attitude. I know some people who are disabled & pretty mobile, yet are afraid to lose benefits if they work/work to much. Most are due to health care cost. Work to much & at some point you lose medicare, so the alternative is to have to work a lot more hours for a net loss. Same goes for retirement. Some retire asap since they consider say 50% of their pay as retirement as taking a 50% cut in pay to continue working.
It's all in how you look at things. I had a coworker who is a parapalegic. He gets around on crutches & still rides his harly, but with a sidecar & brackets to hold his crutches. He rides the hell out of it & several years ago while I was in advance of the rest of the crew in Sturgis I recieved a form letter email to say him & nis girlfriend were healing up fine from their bike crash when the side car broke off. When I asked him how it felt when the side car broke free knowing he was going to have to drop it at some point his response was; "It was awesome! First time I was on two wheels in years!" He rode on two wheels as long as he could & enjoyed his new found freedom. Found best place he could to drop the bike when he got low on gas.
Life is what you make it & how you look at things. I never understood the argument over a glass being 1/2 full or 1/2 empty??? The things are refillable. I think it depends on how much booze or wine is around & if you should get to the good stuff before your friends drink it all! -

In a recent talk with my sister, she was telling me about this guy they met right after the BIL's accident when he was still in rehab. The guy was in the same boat, had been for a good while. He went to the rehab to help others. He built a house, doing a good majority of the work himself. Made me want to take a trip to Illinois and put a pillow over the BIL's face for an hour or so.Do your duty in all things. You cannot do more, you should never wish to do less. - Robert E. Lee -

Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them. -

a "pink blazer" is trail slang for a guy who becomes "interested" in a female hiker and follows her everywhere trying to make a love connection. he somehow "accidentally" happens to be at the same shelter at night as her, the same lunch spot, and same hostel in town as the young lady as he attempts to make his move.2,000 miler -
