I saw three families of geese with 2, 3 and 4 goslings this morning. Yesterday morning I saw four wild turkeys.I am human and I need to be loved - just like everybody else does

I talked to a guy on Isle Royal. He said watch out for foxes. He stopped at a campsite and there was this red fox jumping around and rolling over. He left his pack to go take pictures of it. After a bit he turned back to his pack to see another fox grubbing down on his food.bacon can solve most any problem.

One of my former college buddies has a condition whereby he's overcome with the sudden need to relieve himself. Of course many times he's not near a facility. He carries supplies to deal with the resultant mess if he can't get to a facility, but many times we've had to make a screen with bodies and computer bags while he attempts to use bushes for screening.
One time campus security hassled us as we were screening him from view as he was behind a dumpster. Both officers ( I use the term loosely) attempted to push past as we protested and asked for privacy. Fortunately he quickly reappeared with a tied off black plastic bag and asked the officers if they were looking for the bag as he had just found it and was about to investigate. They declined and we went on our way.
Lest we forget.....

Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them.

Strange, I could see this maybe during leaf off, but this time of year everything is so green it should have been obvious. The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.

On a more positive note, Village Creek was my favorite place to take scouts on camp outs. Good nature center, guides, and you can hike along the Trail of Tears. The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.

OOPs I may offended some people on FB when they asked for the best dog to take hiking. My resonse: Small stuffed one. Less food to carry & will never bother any wildlife or other hiker.

I guess Sat June 4th is National Hiking Day. You all enjoy yourselves. I'll do a few minutes on the tread climber. My wife already volunteered to stand in front of me to be the wildlife (those 3 letter birds you were talking about on the previous page). Could be a lot of fun. They are not blue, but that could be fun painting them blue.
Sheep Dog, you are so gone. How many people got punished on TOS for talking about ins...ms? -

i invest a dollar a week on the lottery. yeah, i know it's a tax on the stupid, the math doesn't work, etc etc etc, but a buck a week isn't gonna mess up my lifestyle. and if i hit i could really do some good with the money. besides...the lottery in ga supports college scholarships and since my oldest son got about 6k in state money i could lose every week and still be waaay ahead of the game.
this week i matched 4 out 6 numbers. thats far and away the most ever. the lottery was approx $250 million. so close! but 4 outta 6 has gotta be worth something. so i check...
50 bucks.

I have to say that of late I have been disappointed with the way the cafe has been going.
The departure of Hikerboy saddened me although unlike him the reduction in political content actually pleased me.
However without him what political content remains is slanted in a way I find offensive after some 40 years of employment in the welfare sector of my wife and myself.
To hear comments indicating that your country's economic woes are because of welfare recipients amazes me given that your country has the lowest welfare to defense spending ratio in the western world and the highest rate of company welfare in the world.
I hope that some sanity returns to the cafe after the November election and to your country before then.
In the meantime I will restrict my visits here and limit my computer time more to Facebook.
It seems ironic to advocate for free speech and tolerance until someone pisses you off because you disagree with their ideas (that comment isn't directed at you but an observation from several social media sites)

Nice going TW, in your plea for peace you quoted the most divisive, offensive and political post I've ever seen on this forum. Just my opinion of course, but I'd say you're not above stirring the pot.
