Teachers are forced to teach nothing but how to pass the national tests that were supposed to be a national standard. But it didn't work out that way.

While some of my teachers should have been put in prison... classes when I went to high school were taught information and we were tested on that information. I learned lots of science and grammar that is apparently not taught until university now.--

I supposedly met some folks who had been to Woodstock about a year after it. No idea if they were being truthful or not. I don't remember the conversation anyway.

Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them.

Alexa wasn't a smart name. I can't see people saying "Alexaing", it doesn't flow and "doing the Alexa" is wrong on several levels. Google will always be a superior search engine because it just sounds cooler.Lost in the right direction.

Yeah. The only way to actually repair credit is to pay bills on time and get a job to do it. Unfortunately there are employers who do credit checks before they hire. One told me I had debt. I politely pointed out the way for me to pay that off was for me to be hired which they didn't do.--

Credit scores are a pathetically screwed up system to say the least. When I responsibly sold my underwater house and paid the shortfall out of pocket my credit score dropped by close to 100 points. According to their formulas, all that mattered was that I suddenly drew down on my credit cards to cover a bunch of expenses. You'd think that freeing up $3k a month of expenses would cause your credit worthiness, but they even counted getting rid of the mortgage against me since it was "good" debt.Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them. -

STE,
Had to read that one twice. At first I was reading it literally thinking of a house like in the ocean, sort like Jacques Cousteau might have.
I thought that is really neat, but probably not practical, so I can see why you sold it.The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.

I have no idea what my credit score is, I guess I should check some day.
I am glad to say that we've never paid any, as in none, interest on credit card bills as we pay them off every month.
If I can't afford it, I'm not buying it.
I guess I've just been lucky, or maybe blessed, in life as there are a million things that could go wrong and change that whole scenario in a heart beat. -

mike rowe is back doing podcasts and here's a couple new ones i liked.
#35 the code breaker -- my first major was history teacher so i'm a sucker for something like this. i knew real early where it was going, but i didn't guess the ending.
#37 man of faith -- i wasn't even close as to the ending. but...i didn't have the advantage of seeing the title that you do. i know there are some here you will like this one and maybe even guess the ending.

LG has introduced a smart refrigerator. It's equipped with Alexa and keeps track of your expiration dates, plays music and all that other stuff. Pretty soon that Alexa bitch will run the world.Lost in the right direction.
