I had mouse problems and someone told me to put bars of Irish Spring soap in my camper. I've been doing that for at least six years now and no mice, plus the camper smells "fresh as a daisy". I cut the bars in half and put them in an open container in each cabinet or closed space."Dazed and Confused"

That is a competition I believe I would be highly motivated to win (or perhaps more NOT to lose). The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.

I've been working on my trip plan tonight, camping spots, resupply, etc. So I can throw it out the window when I get to New Hampshire.

Jimmy Jam, how are you getting to the trailhead? It is possible that I could get you there from Boston depending on the date.

Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them. -

This is what happens when you come home early from a hike. Your wife sends you an hour out into the country side to buy 3 bags of fresh picked sweet corn. Helps having a big family to make an assembly line of preparing most of it for the freezer. Of course we ate some that night. The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.

something to think about next time you're hiking up mt. washington...
george etzwiler just competed his 13th mt. washington road race.
7.6 miles and 4,650 ft elevation gain.
he won his age group.
he's 98 years old.
there's a 6 minute video included in the body of the article.

Here's something you don't see everyday, or ever. I'm driving down a road, a couple miles from home, and out of the industrial park a line of about 12 cars pull out into the lane alongside me. What's unusual is that these are Auburns, Cords, and Duesenburgs from the mid 1930's, all museum-grade restorations. I stopped alongside the Cord while waiting for the light. Then the Boat tail Auburn turned on the side street going to our house and pulled over so I could pass him. I've seen these cars in museums, but I never thought they would actually drive them on the road.
All this was just one minute after seeing the Oscar Meyer Wienermobile in the grocery store parking lot. Unlike the Cord, the Wienermobile had ketchup and mustard color upholstery with purple print carpeting reminiscent of a 1980's bowling alley. Talk about going from the ridiculous to the sublime. -

i drove a mg midget in the 80s that was a blast to drive. (i also had a vw pickup at the same time; so mechanically something always needed fixing between the two of em.)
when you first wrote this i thot you were talking about a triumph tr6 which i absolutely loved and is what got me interested in the mg. never owned one. then after a couple minutes i realized you were talking about a truck.2,000 miler
