I use what ULA calls a rain kilt, but a hiker at the Long Trail Inn in VT who wears a real one says it would really be more of a skirt. I don't know about that, kilt sounds a lot better. The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.

Besides, what's in a skirt really? It moves the rain off parts unwanted.
I will never look at a skirt the same again. Thanks for that.

There's a funny song about a scottsman who gets drunk and passes out on his way home. A lady gets curious about whether he has on anything under his kilt. So she takes a peak. As the song goes he wakes up later and finds a blue ribbon tied around his manhood. He says "well laddy, I don't know where you been, but I see you won first prise.""Dazed and Confused"

I was at an Irish music festival a couple of weeks ago and one of the vendors was selling sport kilts which I thought must be what hikers use. But then I picked it up and it mush have weighed 10 lbs. Is there a lightweight version of a sport kilt for men or are are they all this heavy?

Sure is quiet around. Doesn't anybody want to know how cheese lasts on the trail, whether they should sleep with their food, what qualifies for a FKT, or something like that? The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.

Even if it fit, there's no comparison to my Purple Rain skirts and I will never hike in it.Lost in the right direction. -

also... read about scar tissue. At some point you'll develop scar tissue that may be painful and limit your hip ROM. You may have to work through the pain to regain your level of fitness. It's not always wise to stop all activity if it's painful. Consider PT and definitely look at strength exercises.
After a few months(?), I ran and hiked with an expected amount of pain and did as much stretching and strengthening as tolerable. Cycling hurt the least which is weird because I injured it during spin class.
And now that I think about...can't remember the last time I limped, maybe a few months ago.Lost in the right direction. -

Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them. -

I saw a picture on Nashville backpacking meet-up and pretty sure I recognize a cafe member.
Did y'all see rain man's post on WB about finishing the AT? I thought it was really cool that he invited people to hike with him on his last leg of the AT. Wish I could go...what a special moment.Lost in the right direction.
