If y'all remember a few weeks ago that our old buddy Dakota Joe got shot in the leg. Now he's back in jail. Fleeing and attempting to elude Police, Resisting Arrest, and possession of a firearm by a felon. His address on his book in was "homeless". Surprised there wasn't a meth or heroin charge too.

Ewok, I have to ask a question.
Why do the Reindeer have coats on?
Surely it's not t keep them warm, is it?
Thanks for posting the pictures! -

A few weeks ago, a Roselle police officer saw a car driving southbound on Roselle Road with a 15-foot tree embedded in the front grill of the car. After stopping the driver, he also noticed the airbags had been deployed (apparently from hitting the tree). After an investigation, the Roselle officer arrested the driver for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.
Yet another reason why you should not drink and drive!
did the officer ask "do ya know why i pulled ya over?"

Here are a few pictures from the Running of the Reindeer event that pretty much closes out the last weekend of the Fur Rondy. I wish I could have gotten a better angle but if I zoomed out any more, I got a bunch of people's heads in the pics.

We looked for a legal place to camp but several other groups showed up to camp on the bald. Dang peer pressure.
It was so windy, we both had a difficult time sleeping. I'm surprised the tents didn't collapse.Lost in the right direction. -

so i bought a book with a list price of $16 for $10 from amazon. becasuse it has receipes in it, i bought the actual book rather than the digital version. i have prime so shipping is fee.
amazon used fed ex to get the book to my post office. they used the post office for the "last mile" of delivery. so the post office fired up the mail truck and the mail carrier made a special trip out to my house -- its a sunday -- to deliver it.
this makes absolutely no sense to me.2,000 miler -
I had a package come the same way they other week. 2 day Fedex to my post office and then the regular mailman brought it to my house. I thought it was kinda strange as I was expecting a Fedex truck."Dazed and Confused"

We have just had about a 40% price increase and the introduction of a 1st and 2nd class system for the first time. 2nd class is only delivered 3 times a week.
We have never had the postman collect our mail. If you want to mail a letter you take it to a postbox. For the first time the new 1st class gets delivered on a Saturday. We have never had weekend delivery before.Resident Australian, proving being a grumpy old man is not just an American trait. -

This has been going on for several years now. FedEx and UPS ship to a post office near you, then the post office takes it the rest of the way.
This happens mostly if few people are shiping right then via FedEx and UPS to oyur particular area. Saves them money driving a truck for one package to an area, and the post office apparently gets part of the shipping monies.--

i don't have a problem with the post office delivering the "last mile" as long as it makes financial sense. and to fire up the mail truck and pay the salary of the mail carrier and make a special trip to my house on a sunday to make 43 1/2 cents doesn't pass the smell test. i coulda waited til regular delivery on monday for my book.2,000 miler
