Do you carry some type of camp shoe or do you go without?
I brought my Vivo Barefoot Ultra Pure water shoes across Maine. I have not brought any in NH. In Maine they were duel purpose. There are many places to ford. I did not budget the weight in NH because of the lack of duel purpose. I suspect if I was to do another 300 miles or so at a shot, I would miss the luxury of a camp shoe. Right now I have no plans to bring any again. I can go barefoot if I really need to set my feet free.Non hikers are about a psi shy of a legal ball. -

been using vivobarefoot for a coupla years now on long section hikes.i like having a little protection around my feet for stream crossings.its also good to let my feet dry out completely at the end of the day. on short trips i dont take them, i just loosen the laces a bit.its all good

Been using vivobarefoot for the past 2 years since HB introduced them to me.
6pm.com often has sales on them. FWIW, if you can find a decent color and the right size the Women's are often discounted more than the Men's. Word of caution though, what they call crimson (I was thinking a deep red like Alabama Roll Tide) looks more like pink. The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.

Same here since HB turned me on to them in spring of '13. Crocs haven't seen the trail since. Haven't tried them any distance yet on the FNST. May get to do that this year. They were great for camp last year and to go get water. TR's stayed wet last year. Got wet the first day, came off wet, went back on wet, stayed wet all day , came off wet, etc. the whole trip. If that happens this year, may try those vivo's with a really light wool sock.Changes Daily→ ♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫ ♪♫♪♫♪♫ ← Don't blame me. It's That Lonesome Guitar. -

CL says they're coral.I am human and I need to be loved - just like everybody else does -
I have carried thin soled bedroom slippers, insulated North Face slippers, or nothing. I have not had to ford anywhere on the southern half of the AT. I hopped from rock to rock, or walked across fallen wood, without soaking footwear, but water pooled or running in the middle of the trail gets my footwear wet. The trail through the Grayson Highlands was exceptionally wet.I am human and I need to be loved - just like everybody else does

I used to always take camp shoes but now it's 75% without/25% with. It depends on how heavy my pack is.Lost in the right direction.

I just use my TR's and at camp I take my superfeet insoles out.
This is what I did last 3-week outing, feet stayed wet for the first 11-12 days and stunk worse than any feet I've ever smelled, not your regular foot smell but more like mildew, you have to touch your shoes and socks to take them off and pretty soon the smell spreads...how I longed for something dry to put on my feet...from now on if I'm out for more than a week I'll take something to put on in camp when the feet get wet.I may grow old but I'll never grow up. -

Like the old "I want to be like Mike" commercials, I guess I always wanted to be like Coach. The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.

Haven't used them. But they could be like some other things that I live fine without until I have it. Then I can't live without it.

I have never worn crocks and I think they are too heavy so up to last year I was without. THen someone reached out with a unique idea - and I am sold.
Cedar Tree sent me a trendy closed cell flop like shoe with a Cuban Fiber top... well its a winner even after a small separation... I am sure he will find some better glue.Be wise enough to walk away from the nonsense around you! -
