i'm still getting through the journals and guidebooks, but i need to look at the laternate routes. lou's sending me more trail maps for some of the wilderness areas.the new guidebook has trail intersections and names. even if we get fire reports condition eports before we leave. we'll most likely run into some detours along the way. shitt happens.good to bring tpits all good -

While the details always seem to change due to circumstances, gathering information and thinking about what you might do is always fun for me.The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.

File size will be about same as I posted before with demo planning maps. I stopped 4th map as it's pretty much useless & rudundant. Waiting on Stephan for when he gets time to send me his maps So far every one of the few emails I have sent out have responded in a good way or better!
Hopefully it will continue with ones I send to resupply spots. A few I am looking into are remote airstrips. Hopefully the oufitters can fit it in at a nominal price with one of their resupplies. I also see options of getting resupplied by boat/ rafters. So much to research! I do see a book coming out of this. Maybe several. Trail journal, planning book, current guide. There is so little out there righ now. -

While that is still true, I believe today as you describe "information can set you free". The more you know and understand the more options you have.
Eisenhower and Jack Welch both said something to the effect of plans are useless, but panning is essential. The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.

I love looking at maps & dreaming, Even reading & re-reading guidebooks. I won't remember crap but it's nice to dream about when I do hit the trail. This time looking at planning maps are to search for water cache locations in the desert & places we can cache them with a cheap rental car. I can hike with 10 days of food. Water is a differnt story. caching water, you have the weight of a plastic jug. Food gets risky: ursa sac, ammo can, ber canistor. All iffy if they will be there when you arrive & then you have to go back or arrange to get the removed.

For now I can post my pdf files on here. Once we hike the trail we make it an article as how we did it in a clear & concise forum for others that may want to do it.

I am going to ask to join the ICT Blog. Ask for advise & help in planning. I will once again misrepresent you & cal you an experienced long distance hiker

I'm kinda waiting to print up maps at the shop since I ran the color dry. Have to play lets make a deal with boss. Trade a couple hours of work for ink & paper. I can do digital to a point, but like paper maps to study big picture.

I'm excited about it. Gong cross county doesn;t concern me. Resupply can be worked ou with many hunting camps & rafter grandfathered in when much of the area became wilderness. This trip will be epic. I long for part unmarked!

I have room. Would you like me to host them ? No adverts on my site.--

Christmas came early! Got back to the condo after a hot day setting up in FL & I have several emails from one person I contacted about ICT. He dropboxed me his maps from his 2014 hike along with resupply notes & some other info. He sent not only his custom maps with alternate routes & notes, but also large scale planning maps! I no longer have to tranfer the trail to ones I have been downloading. Best of all it current as of 2014! And he has a facebook page about the trail which he says is mostly just him updating frie info. All he asks in return is feedback keeping information current. This info deserves all three Dancing Bannanas!
