Dog got me up at 6 AM. Foggy and around 60. Alarm went off at 7:10, light rain. At 7:11 the phone rings with National Weather tornado warnings. That is still ongoing 2 hours later. 8 Warnings issued for our location. But it's passed our house now. It will slowly get colder as this week continues.Pirating – Corporate Takeover without the paperwork

Today was a bit of bad weather here in Dallas/Ft Worth. Storms hit after sunrise. National Weather is investigating 12 damage paths in NTX for tornado and wind damage. There are videos of a few of the tornado's. One was about 5 miles to our south and heading towards us but passed to the south and thankfully died out.Pirating – Corporate Takeover without the paperwork

Haven't seen the sun except for a few times in the last 10 days or so. Raining again today, temps in the mid to upper 40's. Forecasted to get up to three inches of rain tonight. Might get interesting with the ground being so saturated.

After tornado's, today is decent. the temp is dropping, slowly, as the day goes on. It was 55 and sunny so I washed the wife's car and my F250. It just keeps slowly dropping in temps as the week goes on. 10 days out, just before Christmas, highs are projected in the mid 40's.Pirating – Corporate Takeover without the paperwork

when I was a kid we would visit my grandfather's farm in NE. They had a real windmill that pumped well water into an elevated wooden cistern, that would flow by gravity into the house. When water came out of the overflow spigot at the top of the cistern, you would shut off the windmill by tuning a crank that pulled a cable to rotate the windmills tail so it would not face the wind, and stop the pump. When the water pressure in the hose got low, you would turn it back on. There were no upstairs bathrooms since the cistern wasn't tall enough to deliver water that high.

lots of snow. One end of the driveway was covered by the time you cleared the other. It's at least 1 corgi deep.

So cool. Not many farm houses like that left in NE. What town was that in?

We're driving to Raleigh for the holidays. We are going to miss a Christmas Eve/Day blizzard at home (18 " snow, 40 mph wind). But it will catch us in VA. We'll spend the night in Wythville VA. They are predicting upper 30s when we leave, but by the end of the day, the Temps will drop to 2 (-20 wind chill). We will race the front across NC.

I’ve also prepared. Packed my bag tonight for an extended stay at work.
I’m very lucky that my hospital pays for hotel rooms for essential employees during bad weather. There are several within walking distance and I’ve had to utilize them several times.Lost in the right direction. -
Texans spent today preparing for a Blue-Northern. Arctic front arrives about daybreak on Thursday. Today, Wednesday was 55 degrees. We will be around 40 at 7 AM on Thursday but dropping all day with 40 MPH sustained northern winds. I think they are saying 9 degrees Friday morning. I have to drive to Fort Worth to pick up BBQ around 10 on Friday.Pirating – Corporate Takeover without the paperwork
