The weather is SNOW!!! and lots of it! about 6+". My husband had surgery for a bone spur on his shoulder which caused a small tear in his rotator cuff and his arm is in a sling so it fell to me to deal with the snow. Well, the snow blower worked for a while but it's very wet snow and also cold so as it went through the snow blower, at times it would sort of freeze up a bit and the snow blower couldn't blow it through. Had to stop, clear out the semi-frozen snow and restart. What a pain. After several restarts, I quit using the snow blower and started shoveling. After getting about 50% done, the most important parts (sidewalk, walkway to front door and enough of the driveway to be able to park our 2 cars), I had had enough. Then one of the neighbors came over and shoveled the front porch and the rest of the driveway. I feel ok now, particularly after a nice big mug of hot chocolate but I fear that I will feel it tomorrow.

Once had snow on our driveway near the basketball goal. I knew within a few days the sun would take care of it and was going to let it go away naturally, but I had a friend from Southern California visiting with his two teenage sons. Came home from work it was all cleared off. I believe they were excited about the novelty for them of shoveling snow. The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.

Looks like they got it right this time, we've got 2.5 - 3 inches of snow.
In a while we'll be heading up to Harriman state park for an overnighter.
I'm hoping to find more snow there. I even dug out my old Vasque, Clarion hiking boots to use.
In the park they are calling for temps in the 30s today, 16 overnight, and the 20s tommorow. -

Stuck in the 20s today, but no precipitation lately so the roads are clear.
Up in 30 and 40s Wednesday and Thursday with rain, but it should stay warm enough to not ice over. The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.

We've had 4.8% of possible sunshine over the last 16 days. Oh goodie.

Headline in todays paper said we got a months worth of rain yesterday in 24 hours. Pretty close to being true; we average 4.3 inches in February and Cobb got (depending on where you live) 3-4 inches.
Pictures of North Georgia posted on FB today of raging waterfalls, lakes out of their banks, and really fast flowing creeks.
Good day to not be one of those early starting thru hikers.
Not raining today, but we went from nice warm weather to 38 degrees right now. 28 tonight.2,000 milerThe post was edited 2 times, last by max.patch ().

20s here now, but headed to northern Indiana today with wife for her uncle's funeral. Forecast is single digits (1* right now) with negative wind chill (real feel).
Past few days been getting up to 3 and 6 inches of snow, but only 1 more inch forecasted (Saturday). I may drive the bulk of the miles there and back, but if there is snow and ice on the roads when we get there the native will be driving instead of this Florida boy.The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.
