Well, we sold our place in SW Michigan, and moved north. The wx has been in the mid 20s, but is expected to drop into the teens, with overnight lows in the single digits over the next week. We had 14" of snow over the last several days. Slush is consolidating along the lakeshore, and soon the lake will be frozen.
Our new house was really built to be a three season cottage, with electric baseboard heat. We have been snow-birders, but we're wrangling contractors to insulate the crawlspace, and add gas heat. Furnace and ductwork is installed. Just waiting on the gas company to run a line from the street and install a meter so we can get that furnace hook-up and operating.-

We went to the Telephone Pioneer shelter, in New York, from route 202.
Crossing one field we were sinking in up to mid thigh and every step turned the snow into wet slush.
Then it got really cold once the sun went down.
We actually slept in the shelter instead of putting up our tent so we'd be out of the snow.
The warmest part of the trip was when I was in my new sleeping bag -
i think this is the dictionary definition of irony.
6 flags was going to have it's first "snowball fight" on saturday. the first 1,000 people in the park (they were going to open an hour early for this event) were going to be given an "indoor snowball"and then a massive snowball fight was going to be held.
the event was cancelled because of snow.
i've never heard of an "indoor snowball" either...
Have all the fun of a snowball fight indoors without the mess or the chill of being out in the cold wet snow with these Indoor Snowballs. These 100% polypropylene soft snowballs are perfectly formed and are ideal for an indoor snowball fight. 15 for $10 at bed, bath, and beyond.

High tomorrow is 30 and sunny, perfect for hiking.
Except I have to make tamales tomorrow. I made the carnitas on Saturday and can’t let it sit too long. Making 3 kinds... carnitas, chicken, and black bean.
Maybe I’ll put the carnitas in the freezer and make tamales another day.Lost in the right direction. -
