    • Dripping Rock to Maupin Field Shelter

I hadn't hiking in about 6 weeks so I was itching to get into the mountains. I had just stubbed my toe really bad on Monday jumping over a cooler of beer so I wasn't up for anything but a short trip. I decided to do just a short out and back overnighter, plus my trail runners were new and needed a little field testing. So I put a post in a forum somewhere else (forgive me) and got hit from Kerosenehat. Well it turns out that we know each other, I was the project manager that built the cafeteria that he manages- what are the odds of that?

It was a great day and we hiked along at an easy pace, taking time to smell the roses:

      Had camp fire:
Finally remember to bring the bourbon, Yeah!

      saw some views:

      And some road kill:

Heard an owl, had three over night T-storms, and it was all good. One day I'll figure out how to post pictures. Not sure why it is doing what it is.
