No.
The referendum on becoming a republic lost.
We share the old pommy bag.
If her son takes over we have a chance of becoming a republic if her grandson doesn't step in too soon.
She and the grandson are popular. Mr inbetween married badly second time around.....Resident Australian, proving being a grumpy old man is not just an American trait. -

As to BB's rhetorical question, of course the molecular motor can assemble itself because it comes from a living organism, and life has this unique ability to utilize adaptive solutions to generate complex structures and solve complex problems. Humans, on the other hand tend to favor prescriptive solutions, which don't work so well. The adaptive solutions of life create complex structures that give the illusion of "intelligent design" to humans working with a prescriptive paradigm.
What is lost in the discussion is that there is something infinitely more important than who is right which is the only motive I have in speaking on a subject that no one wants to discuss.... especially on a hiking sight.
This is a hiking site?Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.

I don't see this as about who is right at all. It was about looking at things from different perspectives (originally, the rose, I think). -
Yes. You are correct. An innocent post about a beautiful experience got highjacked ..... by me. I like to stop and smell the roses too. I could do 20 mile days, but would miss the trail I went to see if I did.Non hikers are about a psi shy of a legal ball.

I am going to smell the roses tomorrow, going for a short hike overnighter. Either a 4 mile out and back or 10 mile out and back. I broke/jammed one of my toes Monday and that little bugger still looks like a swollen rainbow so I will be doing short mileage. I did pack my plastic flask with Makers Mark in it so it will be a relaxing good time."Dazed and Confused"

Yup. And I still think I'd enjoy hikng with BB someday. We disagree respectfully on accidents, and agree mostly on substance. We wouldn't fight on the trail.I'm not lost. I know where I am. I'm right here. -

You can cover that G-d awful hiker stink by using enough bug spray.
We use one with eucalyptus oil. It doesn't keep the bugs away but it smells pretty good. -

I have a fire pit in the back yard I use for cooking over a wood fire (like it better than my gas grill), but my shirt smells like smoke after that. Need to get a shirt just for grilling. Started that after my trip to Turkey last year. The food is so good and everything is cooked over a wood fire (kebabs, etc...) -

Is there a forum on here where all the old goofball members like me hang out and chat instead of searching through all the threads to see what someone wrote?

If you are curious about a certain member's posts, go to their wall and search their recent activity. Beyond that, I would say no or maybe I don't know.
There is a way by following every user. Then every post shows up on the dashboard (Front Page)
There is also the unread threads on the dashboardSometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.

What is the thr ... Wait, there goes Train Wreck.
Speaking of TW, I'm sorry I didn't get those pics to you guys in Franklin. The good news is my accountant and his secretary love them and trade them for doing my taxes. It's cool to go see Gainesville's big time Tax Co and see my AT pics hanging all around. I'll make some more, I promise. -

What, no Guns and Roses? Or how about Bette Midler singing Amanda McBroom's The Rose.
