My 4th started at 8:00am unloading a tractor trailer full of bags of wood shavings.Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them.

What are the shavings for?
That's over at the horsebarn, It is bedding for the horse stalls. The owner usually buys it twice a year and a bunch of us help to unload and stack it.Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them. -

Getting ready for fireworks over the battleship North Carolina.
Rasty, I've been on this ship...in 1978.....it was here as the memorial. I thought it would be bigger....it was way cool!Cheesecake> Ramen -

It's the class of battleship that's smaller then the Massachusetts or Missouri which are huge.Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.

In 2006 during my first R&R from the sandbox my sister came to visit. We (I was still married--blecch) took her to Wilmington. At the Cotton Exchange I bought this book:
smile.amazon.com/Ghosts-Battle…1&keywords=Danny+Bradshaw
Our next stop after the Cotton Exchange was the battleship. In the store there was a line leading to a table at the back. I asked someone working there what the line was for. She told me the author of the book was there signing them and let me go outside to get my copy for him to sign rather than having to buy a new one. I got to spend a few minutes chatting with him. Interesting guy. Decent book, too. I'm not a hard core believer in ghosts, but I definitely am not a DISbeliever either. His stories seem credible.Do your duty in all things. A "big lake"? I don't think so.

No I didnt even though I was anchored fairly close to where it occurred. There was probably 2500 boats crammed in the same area to watch the fireworks. 2400 of them probably had drunks on board. The pictures turned out nice but ill doubt Ill do that again, especially with my eight year old son with me.RIAP -
