Some of the biggest problems with professional sports is the billionaire owners allowing the unions to make millionaires out of the players and working with the local bureaucrats to get the taxpayers to pay for their stadiums.
Wish it was still like the good old days when it was the family business like with Bill Veeck, Connie Mack, and Walter O'Malley. Now instead of a business it is more of a status symbol and let's just push all of the cost off to the fans and taxpayers. The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.

the reason cobb county has the braves -- the city of atlanta (which is sooo broke) gave the falcons $600 million (think that's right - not gonna double check) for their stadium.the braves knew atlanta had nothing left for them -- so they went shopping.2,000 miler

billionaire owners - millionaire players
seems reasonable to me, but hey I believe workers should be paid for their labors. the old family businesses are in many ways responsible for the rise of the players assoc. they thought they should keep all the profits. -

alabama or ohio state? find out in a couple hours.
to my way of thinking, it is intellectually dishonest to have a team that is not good enough to win it's own conference be in the running to be declared national champion. in terms of the playoff, the committee should have a pretty easy job -- there are 5 major conference champions -- decide which one is the weakest and boot em out. then decide if any independents (basically notre dame) or any of the other 2nd tier conference champions should replace one of the remaining 4 teams. this should happen very rarely. that's it. done.
but -- if the committee is gonna look for the "best 4 teams" using computer rankings and the eyeball test rather than what happens on the field -- then it would be a travesty of justice to put in ohio state over alabama.
so...under the current system -- it's gotta be alabama being that 4th team.2,000 miler -
never seen this before -- they attempted to implode the pontiac silverdome (former home of detroit lions) this morning -- but it failed. 10% of the explosives failed -- wiring issue.

Intellectual dishonesty would start with ignoring the stated goal of the committee, That is to find the 4 best teams regardless of conference affiliation. The committee did the right thing (of course I'm an Alabama fan).
Also, Georgia is in, Miami is out. Mark who?
And Also, I'd love to see an all SEC championship game. -

by definition, if you're not the best team in your 10 or 12 team conference, you can't be the best team in the country. using the silly criteria that the committee uses, then alabama should be in over ohio state.
