    • From what I can see it's in the category of gimmick.
No proper rain cover. Even if waterproof, water will pool on it.
Nowhere near the shelter value of something like a Hennessey Hammock.
No provision for insulation underneath- just the compressed sleeping bag under you.
Poor strapping making for more damage to trees.
Very curved back. Design doesn't allow for the flatter sleep a slightly diagonal sleep position accomodates.

But I'm not a hammock hanger so what would I know?

      Thank you.
I have studied hammocks and if I weren't looking at most of my future hikes being with my wife, I would probably add one to my gear.
We have found we are both very comfortable in the BA Copper Spur II so no new tent unless I need to replace that one day.

Wow Oz, you sound like someone who works for an outfitter the way critiqued that. :P

    • As a big reader of HH the other WB I can say Rasty that this is an expensive starter set for newbies. This is not a bad choice, just how the hell do you use it in Late hot summer?

I am still a huge fan when a hammock is flexible - you can leave some parts at home in terms of quilts and after a huge mishap one night, as I got wrapped like a burrito upon entry - I will continue to tout the HH version where you fall back from the center.
