Which is one of the reasons I got so involved with the work crew.
Some of my favorite spots are on the hilltops, with the low oaks and open understoryCheesecake> Ramen -

Closed access, no crossing the wire or mine fields, when I was there for refresher training. Ship board training. Around 1970.--

I'm jealous. Haven't hiked in 2.5 weeks and it looks as if it might be three more. That fall turned out to be a real pain in the ... knee.I'm not lost. I know where I am. I'm right here. -
Did my semi-regular short walk on the trail next my house tonight. Sunset was at 8:16, started walking at 8:25 or so, hiked without my headlamp until 9:25. It was fun navigating by minimal light and by feel, it's amazing how you the ground on established trails is compacted enough by foot traffic that you can tell when you step off the trail even if it's too dark to see.Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them.

Hiking at night especially with a waxing/waning moon is great for me. A full moon while good for an open trail is too bright to retain night vision upon entering overhead cover. I enjoy the cooler temps and empty trails.

After I used early mosquitoe repellent, I noticed the bugs would fly towards me, then move on to the people sitting near me who weren't using repellent. This would have been the 1970s.--

It was indeed the perfect hat for him and he wore it on every trip for years after that until it finally gave up the ghost, lol.If your Doctor is a tree, you're on acid. -

after we sent astro off at the trail saturday morning, me and coach hiked in adjacent sterling forest, taking the sterling ridge trail to the fire tower, and then down to the lake for a 5 mile loop, beautiful day for best friends to enjoy.we got to the trailhead to find a korean passenger van. met them at the first viewpoint, where one of them pointed to the view and told us"viewpoint!" we headed up to the firetower, where there were around 20 hikers eating lunch. me and coach climbed the tower and were rewarded with a beautiful 360 view, then headed down to the lake, and back to our car.its all good
