The place was very cool. We had 2 muckymucs from that club, guide us. Which was very good, with history and the discussion of the geology that formed what we were walking thru

This weekend I had a plan to finish 2 states and recon the finish of another.
Long ago I hiked Connecticut. But, not the ENTIRE state.
Many times I've started or ended @ Rt. 4, and started twice from the blue blaze up Breadloaf mtn. There is a .5 between. OV and I parked at the bottom of St. John ledges, walked sobo to our bikes. There the trail takes a dirt road .8 to the end as the trail continues to Rt. 4, where we parked and walked and met The Elf. Finally, the Ct/Ny border. I've hitched to Rt. 55, and headed nobo, I've been dropped off at Duell Hollow rd. and headed sobo, but in the 1.1 in between is the border.
It took 3, 2 mile walks to finish Connecticut. After the morning walk I stopped at the Fly shop and bought the 3rd of a set from a favored author, had brunch across the street. Then after the road walk I had an ice cream in Kent, no Kent lady, and I had no laundry to do. I did the border walk and headed to RPH for the nite. I stopped at Cousins deli for their 'Funny Bones', they had none so I got a slice of pizza. I thru the Hooch up @ RPH but put the cot under it. A couple of thrus were there, and others. The pizza man came by a few times.Cheesecake> RamenThe post was edited 4 times, last by CoachLou ().

23 miles to go and Jersey is done. Again my gadget betrayed me. I asked it for lodging around Vernon or Warwick. It kept giving me B&Bs. I just needed a no-tell motel..... Nothing. My phone was beat, I put it on charge, got something to eat, headed home. I was past Middletown, NY, I pulled into a rest stop and tried to get some zzzzs. I parked too close to the building, car door slamming people talking, smoking cigs........ I left. Near RPH is another stop. I checked the Cafe' and JimmyJam left me a message, he was at the Marriott in Middletown!!! It was mid- nite and I passed there 45 minutes ago. I had to sleep......I did, I woke at 3.....sleep one more hour and headed home. Monday I unpacked and did some chores!Cheesecake> Ramen

JimmyJam is already in NY? What kind of mileage is he putting in?Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them.

Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.
