My beard used to be red, but now there are white whiskers on my chin.I am human and I need to be loved - just like everybody else does

Spent the weekend at my friend's place up in the berkshires. Spent some time bushwacking with my unleashed dog*, including some comically short sections of the A.T.
*I'm not confessing, I'm bragging.Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them. -

Astro asked me what part of Ct did you live. So I gave him directions by car from Ceasar Brook. I just should have said....."Take a 40 mile Canoe ride down this river and you will pull up to his dock!!!"

One of my scoutmaster buddies has an old Army tent made of treated duck canvas with a wooden center pole. It's not backpackable but when properly secured it's great in cold weather, rain, and windy conditions. I'm the only one he loans it to as I take care of it. The drawback is without ventilation it's hot and dark. However it's large enough for two comfortably.
After using it for an outing, one of us will set it up in the lawn and let it dry completely. He once told me his grandfather used the tent when in the Army.
Lest we forget.....

At TOS Laz has been promoting The New England Trail.
It is three state trails stuck together, thru Connecticut, Mass. and New Hampshire. The Mattabesett is in lower Connecticut, The Metacomet is northern Ct and Southern Mass, and the Monadanock into New Hampshire. The Mattabesett , I've walked most of as a boy scout. I posted pics in April of a section that runs along I-91. This section this Sunday walk is about 10 miles from my house. I parked at the arrow and walked to the east to eyeball some tent sites, that I never found. To the west are some bluffs with very good views, not so good for the guy in the ambulance.....he was conscious when they loaded him up.Cheesecake> RamenThe post was edited 1 time, last by CoachLou ().

Hope you filled it in when you broke through. I hate tripping over postholes.
I also hope you ducked down the side trail to the John Robb shelter, it's got a nice view.
It's just walking with big flat things strapped to your feet.
There are peaks in the Catskills that are actually easier on snowshoes.
The whole hundred miles of the Long Path from Riggsville to the Schoharie is just awesome.I'm not lost. I know where I am. I'm right here. -
