I believe we have just experienced the triple crown of poor questions over the past three days.

Today was average miles per day. But it appears to assume you only count the hiking days (and not zeros). My assumption would be 14.5, but closest options are 11 and 17 (unless you want to go with 8 or 23).
Perhaps some one (or thing) is monitoring this thread. After the triple crown of poor questions, we have now seen a grand slam of straightforward good ones. :)
Well I'm not sure if someone is on this forum who has something to do with the game.
I'm pretty sure it randomly generates each day's questions from some database/spreadsheet. There have been a few instances where I got Question 23 on Monday, and Thursday and again on Saturday.

    • lol the guy holding the loppers that put on his tie to do trail work.

Bonus question; what is the other piece of equipment that Avery has? And has anyone else actually used one?

ETA: "Hiking gear" woulda been a better word that "equipment".

I've played with a measuring wheel that workers have shown up with. Latest was the utility line clearing tree guys. I guess they measure the distance under the lines? It would seem to me they would get paid by the hour and perhaps tree? We have seven trees they have to trim along our power line. A neighbor up the way has one. Same lot size.

Today's was, to me, a new one. I MIGHT have seen it once before.

I count four loopers. One (perhaps two, could be the ladies fur coat collar) dog, a small pick/axe and......a bugle?

    • Still unclear. How about when you spill your last hot meal? Pretty low point. How about when your blisters are looking infected? Pretty low point. How about when it's been snowing/raining for a week and you are holed up in a room, spending funds you'd rather not be spending? Pretty low point..

      Oh.....they mean Lowest ELEVATION....

    • Back in the day we used to walk on roads, not cross them.

And while it sounds horrible, and I'm glad they got the AT back on the woods, the 18ish mile Cumberland road walk in the middle of summer was actually quite enjoyable in its own way. (One day was a nice change of pace; 2 days would have sucked.)

Yeah, a smooth (not necessarily flat) surface is a welcomed change, especially if without traffic. But that is not why we are out there. :)

I never knew this was a site you had to visit. I thought you guys were the ones making up the questions. I finally opened this thread and lo and behold, there was a link to click. Today's was a VERY easy question about blazes.

I always wondered how so many people have managed to miss that left hand turn you have to make coming down Blood as it seemed obvious to me. Then one time, after literally having made that descent dozens of times over the years, I wasn't paying attention and did it myself. So far just the once. :)
