I spent a couple hours at REI, taking advantages of a sale and coupon. Also checked out some gear I had read about but never got my hands on.
I got an REI Magma 850 down puffy for 40% off. It's an attractive ble Cole that didn't come through in the picture. All my winter coats are heavy canvas/fleece style, not really appreciate for hiking.
I also got new Oboz Sawtooth non waterproof ventilated low tops with the 20% off coupon. These are identical to my old ones that have been demoted to lawn mowing shoes. I'm really liking my Brooks Cascadia I got last summer, but as snow season starts soon I wanted something a bit more substantial for winter. Along with the sale and coupon, I should get an REI rebate and 1% Cashback on the credit card.
