OK from experience this is the best jacket money can buy but lets set the expectations

      1. You will still be wet damp and uncomfortable.
      2. IF the weather is cold you will be cold.
      3. Nothing lasts forever
      4. yup its not UL to gram weenies...
      5. once you buy it you cannot complain at the shelter.... you may gain the trail name...whiner...

      1) Rain gear keeps you warm in the rain
      2) Getting cold is not a big problem when your prepared and wearing layers
      3) I take care of my gear. My Patagonia Parka is 20 years old and looks new
      4) 7 ounces
      5) I don't stay at shelters unless no one else is present
Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.

I have been happy with mine. Had it for about a year now and it is a a whole lot better than what I was wearing when I had 3 straight weeks of rain back in the summer of 2013.
