Hello Hikers!
Not sure how to ask this, but my quiet father passed away last summer, and his rich legacy has slowly seeped out since through friends, pictures, stories, etc. One thing he left us was a 48 page typed journal of his adventures on the southern 500 miles of the Appalachian Trail in 1974. We always knew his affinity for hiking, but none of the family had ever read his journal until now.
My question, in short, was anyone else on the AT during the summer of 1974? My father described many acquaintances, either in passing, or as hiking companions. Thought I'd give it a shot! If your year wasn't exactly 1974, Id still love to hear some of your experiences if you're willing to share. All the information shared here has been very inspiring and helpful!
