I'll be helping out ALDHA this weekend at RPH shelter.
All are welcome
The ALDHA Hiker Outreach Program continues to visit the trail to share the
care that ALDHA has for Hikers. The next event will occur in conjunction
with the RPH annual Hiker Feed which takes place on July 9, 2021. ALDHA
will be there to add to the magic.
After RPH, the Hiker Outreach continues July 14-15 at the campground
in Cheshire, MA for 2 days, then moves on to Gifford Woods State Park
near Killington, VT, from July 30 through August 1. Don’t miss the last
two events, on Aug 4-5 at Grafton Notch, NH then at Abol Bridge, ME, on
August 11-12. This will be where ALDHA’s summer tour ends… within sight
of Mt. Katahdin.
ALDHA Members who live close to these locations are encouraged to come
out and join in the fun because that is what has been going on all
summer. We are finding that the current Thru Hikers love ALDHA. At
these last outreach activities, we hope to see some SOBOs and greet our
NOBO hiker friends as they make the final push to the end.
If you decide to join us, a typical day often involves cooking eggs,
passing out hot dogs and snacks and talking to the best hikers in the
world. Come by and meet the current class and provide your personal
encouragement to them in their epic journey north AND south.
