    • Not about to bring a down coat in the rain... Nor do most rain jackets fit the "lofty" description. :D

      I cleaned my beater puffy jacket. The "heavy" one with a thick zipper, thicker nylon shell, and I can stuff, take with me on high desert winter trips or in the The Badlands in December. Not only is it warm, it takes a beating from the harsh terrain, I can grab firewood, etc.

      My Montbell puffy with 7 oz of down fill is beautiful. But it is strictly for in camp when winter backpacking or maybe on hut trips.
