Again? Wasn't there a family this winter that went down a GPS guided road in the snow, got stuck and the wife made a 20 mile run for it and crashed in a closed office or something? I think her husband finally got tired of waiting and walked a mile to a real road?

People have been driven off cliffs by their GPS....gotta use some common sense and always carry a friggin map....

Big trees and grass? I am thinking that this was her first trip in the American West. Thankfully once she was stuck she was smart and kept her head. A story with a happy ending.

Since she goes to the college where my wife and daughter went, just up the road, we are getting more details. Seems she COULD have fueled up, but thought the $2.90 was too high and hoped to find cheaper fuel. Shame. But she did a lot of things correctly.

Sounds like she was headed to the Havasupai area of the west rim, maybe to the falls, It's about a 250 mile from the south rim some thru remote areas. You gas up every chance you get in the four corners areas, because its a long way between services.

Or possible she was followin' the "Thelma and Louise trail"

New Mexico and Arizona are not downtown nor are there lots of trees.
