got an email from My Trail Co (old golite guy) and they are having a 50% off sale on everything.
to be honest -- i've looked at a couple clothing items and the sale price is about what i'd expect to pay anyway so i don't know how legit this sale is.

My experience is that it's always available for less than $100 and while it weighs 13.1 ounces I like the pit zip feature.
I wind up wearing it more around town as a rain jacket or as a wind jacket rather than as a rain jacket for hiking. -

During the summer I use a Marmot Mica (7 oz), but last year for Christmas I got myself an Orange Precip for the Fall/Winter (figured the color couldn't hurt during hunting season).
Well this summer when sitting out the 2 hour rain delay to the start of the Astros/Rangers game (Darvish & Kuechel it was worth it) I let my son wear it. He loved it so much that fortunately I was able to find him a red one for $60.The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.

me too. I had a North Face 2.5 layer rain jacket with generous pit zips, fully adjustable hood, self storing pocket. I would use it as my everyday rain or spring jacket for years, in addition to hiking. Not UL. Don't know the weight, but not expensive. it started to delaminated last year so I replaced with an equivalent version from Eddie Bauer. About the same price, often on sale. We have a local store so if there is ever a problem with it, they will take care of it. Good customer sevice. Have not yet seen the need to invest megabucks to get fewer features to save a few oz in rain gear.

I use the Hyperlite Mountain Gear Stuff Sack Pillow.
It is waterproof and weighs less than two ounces.
Its primary mission is to keep my emergency layer of clothing dry no mater what. Any use as a pillow, although nice, is secondary to me.“Of all sad words of tongue or pen,

My new pack got here just in time for my LASH. It's a Superior Wilderness Designs 50L. I really like it. Durable but still light. They give you lots of color choices and options are very reasonably priced. Check them out at:

I'd like to try some other packs for curiosity sake but I just don't see how I could find anything better than the Granite Gear Crown 60 I have...definition of perfect being, you can not find anything you'd change to make it better...that's this pack.I may grow old but I'll never grow up.

Just took it for a loaded test drive on the elliptical. Carried well. I like the solid side pockets, they won't get snagged on branches like my other packs and they have drain holes.
