I had to supply my own curtain rods at my last apartment. So I have multiple types and sizes of them.

Tent arrived and I used a small key to open the post box, not a large entrenching tool...
And wall-mart is apparently carrying the snap lock trekking poles, instead of the 'twist the knurled ring' trekking poles. Just under $18.00, so a saving of about $1.20.--

since i don't use poles the "proper" way i'd use a broom or mop handle before using those poles again. i used that for a season and it worked just fine.
i have a pair of lekki's now, but i still only use one pole. i like keeping one hand free.
"trekking poles" didn't exist when i thru'd; the tree branch i used worked just fine.2,000 miler -

I got my first chance to use the tarp last night in a decent rain and wind storm near Overmountain shelter. I stayed completely dry and the tarp performed perfectly. I will need to make a Tyvek ground sheet that it's fitted and a bit sturdier then painters plastic. I could go all out and make a sil-nylon ground sheet for a few bucks more.Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.
