      That's a good little shelter.

      Pepe must like the place, he was hanging out with all the thru hikers in there last time I was there.
      Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them.

      Serious answer. Beer is a lot like my cast iron skillet and my camp chair. It's one of the things I like when I'm car camping, but I don't bring them backpacking.

      I rarely drink when I hike, but when I do it's a bit of good whisky, either straight, mixed with black coffee, or in the winter mixed with hot cherry jello (seriously)


      I once did an Eiger Sancion movie move & had my friend haul beer. I slipped it in his pack on a local hike of the M & M Trail. We stoped for a break at an open fire tower in the hot humid summer heat. He climbed up & was sitting on the edge leaning against a rail catching what little breeze there was. I yelled up & asked if he wanted a beer. He said I had to be "F"ing nuts to carry beer in this weather. I agreed pulled out the two beers I hid in his pack & climbed up to join him. He complained about them being warm but shut up when I told him I thought it would be pushing it to far if I had him carry ice too! :woohoo:


      The best beer is either the one you get for free or the one your pal carried up the mountain for you!

      I am a proof reading nazi, and found a mistake in their video. They talk about time laps, not time lapse! I did (sweetly) email them about the error. Think I'll hear from them? Think they'll send me free stuff? Think they'll send me free stuff before the Harriman hike? I am a hiker, so I do deserve special consideration, right?
