Has anyone been to the Dolly Sods Wilderness during the winter?
No, but I once drove by Dollywood in the summer fwiw. The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.

Haven't been in the winter, but when we went on Memorial Day weekend in 2013, it was 37 degrees when we arrived, with 40 mph northwest winds and snow flurries. It improved over the weekend, so I am glad we toughed it out, but we came very close to getting right back in our cars and leaving. lolFirst Law of Physics for Backpackers: What goes down must come up.

I hear it can be rough in the winter. I turned off the highway from Marlinton and immediately got my mustang caught in the snow. I would have been there a coupla months if someone hadn't come thru the opposite way with 4-wheel drive.
