Unsportsman like conduct - excessive celebration - too many dancing bananas on the field - repeat last post.I am human and I need to be loved - just like everybody else does

a few silver linings from last nite:
bartman is now, hopefully, a free man and can come out of hiding and live a normal life without fear of being cussed out, having a beer thrown at him, or worse. i think next year the cubs will reach out to him and we'll see him throw out the first pitch or sing take me out to the ballgame during the 7th inning stretch.
chicago was the best team in baseball and its good to have the best team actually win the world series once in a while. i won't get started on how stupid it is to have wild card teams make the post season when ya play 162 games.
i like joe maddon from his years with the rays and i'm glad to see him win a championship in his career (just wish it'd been in tampa). having said that, he totally mismanaged game 6 and almost cost his team game 7 becasue of it. i think he may have taken a page from franconas playbook and was in the clubhouse eating fried chicken and drinking beer game 6.2,000 miler -

Good players make routine plays.
Great players make spectacular plays.

And in other news, O'Hare air traffic controllers announced that they are overwhelmed with traffic volume, as the flying pigs all make approaches at once. Auld Nick posts 'help wanted' ads for ski instructors on the glorious powder slopes of the Alternative Destination.
No, really, that sort of remark is unfair. Any team can have a bad century once in a while.I'm not lost. I know where I am. I'm right here. -

Anyone in the Chicago area and planning to attend the parade? Bet Grand Park is already crowded with newly converted Cubs fans.

now i see the braves have signed bartolo colon. hey, i'm all for it, pitching is too important for kids.
if he hadn't died last year they probably would have gone after minnie minoso to come off the bench to pinch hit.2,000 miler -

in 2015 he was a player-manager in japan. didn't expect to play -- but because of injuries -- he played in 10 of his teams first 14 games. hit .333 with 4 rbi's and 6 runs scored. at age 57.
he'd be an upgrade.2,000 miler -

Q:
Which Major League stadium hosted its first game the same day as Bartolo Colon's Major League debut?
Display Spoiler Turner FieldThe road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.
Richard Ewell, CSA General -
colon lasted longer than the stadium; thats an amazing stat.
the city sold turner field to georgia state for $30 million; they are going to spend another $20 million converting it from a 50,000 seat baseball field to a 20,000 seat football stadium with the capability of adding another 10,000 seats down the road if warranted. right now they average less than 10,000 a game in the 75,000 seat georgia dome.2,000 miler -
Astros just acquired Brian McCann from the Yankees. Might be a jerk, but you know he will protect the tradition of the game.
I just hope he is still able to hit and catch for the rest of his contract. Otherwise there will be a lot more of Evan Gattis behind the plate instead of DH.
