just heard Yogi Berra died...RIP
How bout some yogi-ism's in remembrance?

"Nobody goes there anymore, it's too crowded"
I apply this to many backcountry destinations esp where I live.
Other appropriate ones for the backcountry:
Phil Rizutto: “Hey Yogi, I think we’re lost.”
Yogi Berra – “Ya, but we’re making great time!”
You can observe a lot by watching.
It's pretty far, but it doesn’t seem like it.
You gotta know where you’re going. Otherwise, when you get there you’ll be lost.
and perhaps my personal favorite

I guess his most quoted is "it ain't over till it's over". He was a true philosopher, can you imagine how much fun playing the game was with this guy, I played with some pretty good cut ups but this guy takes the cake...RIP....a baseball immortal.I may grow old but I'll never grow up.

Leave it to the Cubs to have the third best record in the major leagues and still come in second place in the wild card race.

I'm a fan of Evan Gattis, that triple hittin' freak! I'm still pissed off that the Braves traded him.

He wasn't all for my "beat the streak" 21 game hitting streak when I picked him a year or so back when he was with the Braves.....ergo, I have no use for him, lol.

Hard to beat playoff baseball.
A team I was "all in on" has not won it all since Orel, Kirk Gibson and the 1988 Dodgers. Although the 2005 Astros made it to the World Series. I am going to enjoy this ride for everything it is after 10 years out in the wilderness. The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.

Cubs win. Now they get to play the only team with a record better than the Pirates.

either way, the amazin's took their revenge last night, with no need to retaliate other than hitting the ball all over the place.
utley may never serve a suspension if he retires after the season.its all good -
It seems two rules are ignored on the double play turn at second. Sometimes the defense is just in the vicinity of the bag and gets the out. Other times the runner is in the vicinity of the bag and not called for interference. I guess I would like to see more of a penalty for what is the equivalent of unsportsmanlike conduct. Being called out is not enough. How about ejection? For that matter, among team sports baseball is best positioned to completely eliminate all on-filed brawls. All you would have to do is have a rule that states if any player leaves his position to engage in a conflict, he is automatically ejected from the game.
