So what did Santa bring (hiking related)?

When I was working on the coast, I was part of the ride out team for disasters. I found an Energizer 'Weather Ready' wind up flashlight/torch. Bought it on sale as the hurricane season ended. Works rather well.

Today, bought myself a selfie stick that uses the volume control on my cell phone to trigger the photo capture. Goiong to have to come up with a way to waterproof that. Extends out 3.2 feet.

And a paracord bracelete kit Makes 6. Says 'Cautopn: Not a toy.' Eh... darn, I thought it was a toy.

not sure where boot comes from, but trunk probably comes from the fact that in old cars there was a platform on the back where they would strap a steamer trunk for storage.

We know Coach Lou was getting a new pack for winter use, what did the rest of you get that's hiking/camping related?
As for me I stopped giving/getting gifts years ago to eliminate the stress it causes and the distraction it is from the real reason for the holiday. With that said I did get my son a Western Mountaineering quilt for his bed and I gave Kathy one of these gadgets that tells you everything but the time on the moon.

Ordered an Osprey Tallon 22 S/M daypack from a Thanksgiving morning EMSbonline door buster. But it was too small so I ordered another M/L one from Amazon for a little bit more. Gave the first to my wife and the second for me.

Also got a hammock from Massdrop for reading in my backyard.

Finally a Marmot Precip Orange jacket that I will wear tomorrow since it is hunting season.

Altra Lone Peak trail runners. Previously I've only hiked in trail shoes (Oboz, Keen). These are my first trail runners. May wait for the weather to clear up a bit before trying them outside.

Cheap timex ironman watch with molded band integrated to case smoothly that hopefully will not snag on packstrap.....one of my major annoyances when removing pack.

My daughter gave me a great present - she told me she wants to start backpacking!

Then she got a nice present - Dad took her to REI and she got her first backpack and a co-op membership. It was a lot of fun wandering through the aisles and showing her all of the options for water treatment, cooking, sleeping bags, tents, etc.

her name is alexa.

she does everything i tell her to do and she is very very smart.

but she thinks the AT is 2,200 miles long. i blame wikipedia for that misinformation.

i wish i had met alexa a year ago.
