Its not so much ASAP that bothers me, but it is that folks spell it out -- A - S - A - P -- rather than using the acronym as a word, a-sap. The whole point of the word is to spead up communication and all that happens is it gets slowed down. It is especially annoying in cop shows, medical dramas and war movies.
Mondays: Put in patches to fix problems that cropped over the weekend...ASAP!
Tues, Weds, Thurs: test the hell out of it
Friday: Rush to put in patches ASAP!
...and on Monday the whole cycle starts over again. ASAP!
The exceptions are days before holidays breaks. In which case, the Friday is actually a Wednesday (Thanksgiving..get out "early" allegedly..leave at 4:30 PM..)

Not hiking related, but people who refer to their dogs as "Furbabies" and themselves as "Pet Parents" need to be smacked in the back of the headDogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them.

It means lie or rumour.
Origin is from our goldrush era when most miners were in very arid areas.
A couple of brothers called Furphy got rich bringing in water in big tanks labeled "Furphy Brothers". Miners would gather around tanks and shoot the breeze. Stories told were often BS. Hence a rumour (particularly false ones) got called a furphy.Resident Australian, proving being a grumpy old man is not just an American trait. -

I've had a few bosses who thought it meant 'right now !'. 'So boss, what do you want me to stop doing and do this one ?' etcetera.--

Back in the 1960s, I knew a guy who ran a music store and he got very tired of hearing 'far out' and other such phrases.
So he started saying 'farm house !' in response. Been too long, but I think one of the other ones he had was 'outer space !' for another of the highly repeated phrases from that time.--

I don't use prepositions to end sentences with.
I will follow this rule until I am six feet under.
Also, to repeatedly split infinitives is poor form.
It is something you should try to rarely do.
Also, using an adjective when you should use an adverb makes you sound like you are speaking bad.
I run away from such people quick.
So remember, if it's broke, fix it, and that includes using a verbs as adjectives.
And never start a sentence with a conjunction.
So my biggest complaints are the misuse of prepositions, split infinitives, adverbs, adjectives, conjunctions and the oxford comma. -

No split infinitives is for Latin, not English. So if using English, go ahead and split them. Just don't listen to the screams of the Latin speakers.--

time for a grammer lesson. pay attention, y'all.
example 1:
i love my parents, taylor swift and donald trump.
that sentence is messed up!!! it says that taylor swift and donald trump got married (yuck!) and had a kid. and that kid is me. (double yuck) my dad is donald trump! even worse, my mom is taylor swift! taylor swift can not be my mom for obvious reasons!!!
example 2: oxford comma to the rescue!!!
i love my parents, taylor swift, and donald trump.
now all is right with the world. i love my parents. i love taylor swift. i love donald trump.
use of the oxford comma is the sign of a civilized society!!!2,000 miler -

Also, I think Oxford, Taylor, Swift, Donald, Trump, and all the words at the beginning of your sentences should be capitalized.
