Always been in the woods, never been scaird of critters. Always said..."I'll fight my way out".
I went to the National Elk foundation museum in Missoula once. All sorts of stuffed animals......I got to the mountain lion aisle, at the end was this beast that was normal size of all the others, only it was built like Mike Tyson!!!!!!!!!Cheesecake> Ramen -

One of the reasons I'm a bit wary of hiking western trails. Though I did, a bit, before I knew fear. Here in the Appalachians, not too many critters to really be spooked by. But grizzlies and big cats give me pause.

I'm afraid of feral dogs. Seriously, they were serious pests on my attempted thru in '90. It took some effort to fend them off, at times. -

I have a healthy fear/respect for the moose who share my general living area. The black bears are bigger and a little more "people" friendly" than those I'm used to. The brown bears mostly just mind their own business and ignore people. The wolves (despite the signs in the training areas on the back side of the base that state there is an aggressive pack) so far, I haven't seen or heard. There are supposedly wolverines and lynx that live here with the humans but I haven't seen them either.
I've seen multiple porcupines but they aren't scary but I don't try to play with them either.
I generally see less animals when I'm actually in the woods/on a mountain/hiking, than when I walk around my neighborhood. It remains an interesting and strange place for me.“Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.” - T. S. Eliot -

When I first moved to the Wasatch Mts. while hiking after a recent snowfall, I found the remnants of a rabbit with lion tracks departing the scene. Since then I've found fresh kills of deer and elk with both large and small lion tracks interspersed throughout the feeding area.
