The man’s cleanup of that bowel movement wiped out 73-acres of forest.

A cyclist will probably never forget the day that he stopped to take a bowel movement while cycling across the Boise foothills because this was the beginning of a 73-acre wildfire in southwest Idaho. An unnamed cyclist stopped in a ravine during his journey because nature called and when he was done with the toilet paper, he lit it on fire instead of leaving it as litter in the beautiful great outdoors.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Land Management official, the cyclist called their government agency to report that he had defecated and then lit the used toilet paper on fire to dispose of it. The investigators were sure this was their fire origin because story matched up with what investigators found at the scene of the fire, according to Fox News on July 24.
The cyclist said that after he did his business, he lit the toilet paper on fire, but “lost control of the embers in the dry grass while trying to extinguish the waste." The authorities said that the cyclist’s report matches the evidence that they had found when investigating the scene.
It wasn’t until several hours later that the firefighters had contained the flames once the fire was reported this week. The man contacted the department on Thursday morning to explain what had happened. The Bureau did not release the man’s name and that’s probably a good thing for this cyclist as he would probably be dodging jokes made by his friends and co-workers for sure.
As KTVB News reports, "Pooping cyclist starts foothills fire," which is just one of many different article titles chastising the man who defecated and started his used toilet paper on fire. USA Today writes for their title, "Pooping cyclist blamed for starting 73-acre forest fire," and this list goes on.
The bureau did say that the man will be fined for starting the fire, which destroyed the 73-acres, but the amount is unknown. There is some kind of life-lesson in this story and someone who has a mind like Confucius could probably do it justice!
Be wise enough to walk away from the nonsense around you!
