The views might not be that great, but the elevations (or lack there of) are popular. :lol:The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.

No pics. I'm doing it all wrong.
Anyways, FT thru hikes seem like a lot of suffering to me. How many gator-moccasin infested swamps do you want to swim thru? How many palmettos and pine trees are too many?
The FT is always being re routed up here. They've taken the scenic route by spring fed creeks in ravines and hidden ponds and put it on the old railbed along highway 100.
You will see wildlife such as bears, eagles, otter, etc. since you will prolly be the only human to come along for months.
There are nice sections, especially along the Suwanee River with lots of ups and downs, springs, and the Suwanee Shoals.
My goal is to put up some nice pics on this thread. -
I don't mind the gators so much - they're scared of ya. It's them dang moccasins. They slide right off the bank and come right after ya, and right before they get to ya they go underwater.Changes Daily→ ♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫ ♪♫♪♫♪♫ ← Don't blame me. It's That Lonesome Guitar.

I remember in Florida History singing about the Suwanee River. I think it was the state song. Old Folks at Home by Stephen Foster?
I was excited as a kid when we drove over it. Sign had music notes on it.The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.

I didn't realize it. Now I'm a real cafe poho as opposed to an imaginary poho. I'm somebody.
Now to see if I can get a FT pic here. -

You sure are bringing back a lot of old memories GB. There used to be a little out of the way restaurant just outside of Starke when I would go in for breakfast the waitress would put me the biggest glass of milk you ever saw in the freezer so that by the time my breakfast was ready it was super ice cold. Loved that woman.Changes Daily→ ♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫ ♪♫♪♫♪♫ ← Don't blame me. It's That Lonesome Guitar. -

i worked and hung out at my uncle's dairy farm for many years. loved to dip a cup in the bulk tank and drink 38 degree raw milk
Used to buy it that way from a dairy farm in Alabama that made cheese and butter and had fresh eggs but like a lot of things there ain't nothin' left but weeds and bushes growin' through the buildings. You used ta could not miss the place. Always somebody there. Now I can't hardly find or recognize it drivin' by.Changes Daily→ ♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫ ♪♫♪♫♪♫ ← Don't blame me. It's That Lonesome Guitar. -
Reminds me of when my friend used to live on a dairy farm in Delray Beach, FL. Way out west though. The dairy furnished the key workers with housing. The mice in the shelters on the AT can't hold a candle to the mice in them houses. We used to spend the night and catch 'em in soup bowls propped up with broke in half popsicle sticks and string. Then we'd put them bastards in slingshots and shot 'em against the trees.Changes Daily→ ♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫ ♪♫♪♫♪♫ ← Don't blame me. It's That Lonesome Guitar.

Hey MM or anybody, what do you know about Ecofina River? I was looking at the topo maps and it looks pretty cool. I was interested in Deep Canyon Springs which flows into the Ecofina. I think it's not too far from Chipley. The FT must cross it somewhere. How far upstream can you launch a canoe?

Scott Bridge Road = 14 miles of canoeing with the largest drop of elevation in FL. I'm so there as soon as it warms up.
Sounds really nice. I'd heard of it before, but I've never checked it out. -
