from a news article time stamped an hour ago:
Authorities said there are no signs of foul play, and they expect a full autopsy report within 12 weeks.
i hope they discover this was the result of natural causes and she was able to squeeze every bit of life out of time we are given on earth, but my gut still thinks this was a suicide. i hope i'm wrong.2,000 miler -

I once got on the wrong side of a park ranger in NJ because we parked overnight where we shouldn't have at a park the AT goes through. I was able to talk him out of writing a ticket and we got into a pretty long conversation. It turns out that it's very common for people to end their life in parks and other places with a serene surrounding. He said that it's a routine part of their job to try and find the body.

It's all very sad. She sounds like an amazing person.
There is at least one person unaccounted for in the park, as far as I know. They found his car parked at Newfound Gap. He is always at the back of my mind when I'm hiking in the Smokies and I keep my eyes open for any sign of his remains.
